Our Mission Statement
Our mission is to build self-esteem and responsible, lifelong learners. The staff at Ione Elementary strives to accomplish this goal by nurturing the intellectual, physical, emotional and moral capacities of each and every student. This positive environment enables all of our students to profit from the continued academic success which can ultimately lead to a fulfilling life as a contributing worker and citizen in our society. Our Parent/Faculty Club and community partnerships bring more than fundraising to our school – they help create a sense of family and community that is essential to the Ione Elementary School experience. The Ione Elementary School community serves as a caring and concerned extended family that is dedicated to academic excellence and the growth of the whole child.
Meet the Principal
Hello and welcome to Ione Elementary School. My name is Mike Huss and I am the principal of Ione Elementary. I grew up in Ione and attended Ione Elementary from kindergarten through 8th grade. I have spent over 40 years of my life on the Ione Elementary School campus as a student, school custodian, classroom teacher, and now the school principal. My wife Karen and our two children also attended Ione Elementary. My goal as principal is to support the staff, students, and families and to help everyone see that Ione Elementary is a truly special place for students to grow academically, emotionally, and socially.
I look forward to the opportunity to meet and talk with you.
